Q. What would you say is the most important part of your life?
DB- My Family, I'm extremely independent but I have strong family ties.
Q. What would you say feeds your soul?
DB- Singing and writing, I feel God gave me a special talent that brings me a lot of joy
Q. What got you interested in music?
DB - My mom nurtured the love of music in me.
Q. How did she do that?
DB- She always played an instrument. The piano, accordion, organ and the guitar were among the familiar sounds.
Q. Do you have any siblings?
DB- Yes. A sister and a brother.
Q. What was it like when you were a kid? What did you do?
DB – My sister, brother and I would spend many evenings jamming with mom. My sister would sing harmony. She appeared as my guest at my Christmas show as did her son.
Q. Did your father play any instruments?
DB - Dad played the Autoharp, harmonica and the spoons. He spent a little time trying to teach me how to yodel. I'm still trying.
Q. A career in the music business can be very trying on a couple. Your husband is obviously very supportive.
ß DB - Now a days it seems like there is more divorces than ever. I am still married to my one and only husband. I am still learning what makes him tick. He is so supportive and excited about what's around every bend that he keeps me going.
Q. What about friendships?
DB- I have been very blessed with good friends in my life. Not only are they there for the usual things in life, good and bad, but also have supported my dream. They were there through my talent show days right up to the award shows. I am very lucky.
Q. Are you a romantic?
DB- I am a crazy romantic. I like to make all occasions special.
Q. What's your favorite time of year?
DB - Christmas is my most favorite time of the year.
Q. Outside of your singing, do you do you have other interest?
DB – Sure lots of things. I love decorating, in fact I have done my house in a classic country french style. Well at least that's what I call it! I love crafting. In this business it has come in very handy. I've made props for some of my productions. I love going to garage sales, and second hand stores scouting out something old or unusual.
